Itinerary
Day 1. Bucharest – Curtea de Arges - Sibiu
Meeting with the guide at the hotel and departure toward the best preserved city in terms of layout - Sibiu, via Curtea de Arges, former capital of Wallachia, a small town but with a great legend - the legend of Manole. We visit the Curtea de Arges Monastery, considered the most beautiful monastery of central and eastern Europe. It has been built by the Prince Neagoe Basarab and painted during the reign of Radu de la Afumati. Then we head toward the tourist resort of Cozia, where we will visit the Monastery of Cozia, built by the Prince Mircea cel Batran in the XIV century. Lunch en route. In the afternoon we will arrive in the city of Sibiu, chosen as European Capital of Culture in 2007, where we will take a panoramic tour of the city with the passage of the stairs, the Great Square, and the Small Square. Dinner in the rural houses of the people of Sibiel, with local product and drink included in the menu. Accommodation in Sibiu, in the old city center area.
Day 2. Sibiu – Biertan – Sighisoara
Buffet Breakfast at the hotel. We start with the walking tour of the beautiful Sibiu. Stroll through Sibiu, we can observe its iron ingots that advertise vintage shops, their patina of rust that stain of red walls, cobbled streets of the loose, its old wooden doors, their windows sills of multicolored, ultimately all in Sibiu, summarizes the essence of the middle ages. We will visit the higher and the lower Sibiu, the Orthodox Cathedral, the passage of the stairs, as the famous Liars’ Bridge. We continue our journey toward the locality of averages. Here we can admire the Tower of the trumpet, where it is assumed to have been imprisoned the famous prince Vlad Tepes. Then we depart for the village of Biertan, with its saxon fortified citadel, one of the 300 of fortified churches of Transylvania, built in the XIV century. Built on a hill located in the center of the village, it is scheduled for two circular walls and can be reached in the interior of the citadel through some old stairs. Lunch in a medieval restaurant. After lunch, we headed toward the medieval town of Sighisoara, the only inhabited citadel, today UNESCO Heritage and birthplace of the famous Vlad the Impaler, prince of Wallachia who inspired the figure of Dracula on the novel by Bram Stoker. Dinner and accommodation in Sighisoara citadel.
Day 3. Sighisoara – Brasov
Buffet Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning we visit the town of Sighisoara with: the Clock Tower that houses the Museum of History of the city of Sighisoara, the Museum of Medieval Weapons, the Torture Chamber, as well as the birthplace of Dracula – today a renowned restaurant. Then we head toward the town of Brasov, located in the center of the country, border point of the ancient historical regions: Wallachia, Moldavia and Transylvania, where we will have a panoramic tour of the city of Brasov, including: the Church of St. Nicolas, Schei Gate, the Synagogue, Holy Ecaterina Gate, the Thread Street, the Council Square, the Tower of the Council, and the most important Gothic monument of Romania - the famous Black Church in Brasov. Lunch at a restaurant in Brasov. Evening free for strolling and meeting this beautiful city. Dinner and accommodation in Brasov, close to the historical area.
Day 4. Brasov – Bran – Sinaia - Bucharest
Buffet Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning we depart toward the village of Bran, where we visit the Bran Castle, also known under the name of Castle Dracula. Then we headed toward the Sinaia resort, called by its beauty "The Pearl of the Carpathians", where we will visit the Sinaia Monastery, built by the prince Mihai Cantacuzino after a visit to Mount Sinai. The architecture of this monastery has to do with the Church of Santa Catalina, located on Mount Sinai. We have to mention the fact that she has been the first building in this part of the Carpathians, giving name to the resort. We continue with the visit of the wonderful Peles Castle, built by the first representative of the Romanian monarchy Carol I, a member of the family of Hohenzollern Zigmaringen of Germany. Lunch at a local restaurant in Sinaia. After lunch we heade toward the capital of Romania - Bucharest. Dinner and accommodation in Bucharest.
Day 5 Bucharest
Breakfast buffet in the hotel. At the set time, transfer to the airport and end of our services.
